It will be led by Patti DiVincenzo from IRE, Ron Nixon from The Associated Press and Aaron Glantz from The California Newsroom.

More about the speakers:

Patti DiVincenzo has spent more than three decades working in TV stations across the country, starting in Topeka, Kansas, and eventually landing at WSB-TV in Atlanta, where she was an investigative producer and data specialist for 16 years. A long-time member of IRE, she joined the staff as a training director in February 2019. DiVincenzo earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Kansas.

Ron Nixon is global investigations editor at the Associated Press where he oversees the news agency’s investigative unit. Nixon received the inaugural 2021 News Leader of the Year award from the News Leaders Association. Nixon is a Marine Corps infantry veteran who saw combat in the 1990 Persian Gulf War. He was part of the U.S. Marine Corps Security Forces Battalion at Norfolk, the security and counterterrorism unit of the Corps. In 2015, Ron co-founded TruthBeTold.news, a non-profit, non-partisan fact-checking website and digital network, run and edited from Howard University’s Department of Media, Journalism, and Film in the School of Communication. Nixon is also co-founder of the Ida b Wells Society for Investigative Reporting, a news trade organization with a mission of increasing the ranks, retention, and profile of reporters and editors of color in the field of investigative reporting.

Aaron Glantz is senior investigations editor for NPR’s California Newsroom collaboration. A two-time Peabody Award winner and finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for investigations into racial discrimination in banking, Aaron’s work has sparked new laws, dozens of Congressional hearings, investigations by the FBI, DEA and one of the largest settlements in the Federal Trade Commission’s history. His work has been cited by lawmakers across the political spectrum -from Senator Elizabeth Warren on the left to Rand Paul on the right.
