Disability Guide Launch Event Registration
We’re excited to invite you to the launch event for our new disability narrative guide, on April 1 at 1:00 PM Eastern.
Built by Military Veterans in Journalism (MVJ) in collaboration with the Disabled Journalists Association (DJA), Fix the Frame: A Newsroom Guide to Disability Narratives is a practical resource designed to help journalists produce more accurate, respectful, and inclusive reporting on disability.
The guide goes beyond terminology corrections to offer practical frameworks, real-world examples, and best practices for stronger, more nuanced storytelling under real newsroom conditions. Developed with disabled journalists and grounded in lived experience, it helps bridge a critical gap in disability coverage by combining language guidance with substantive reporting strategies.
What you’ll gain at the launch event:
- An overview of the guide’s development and purpose
- Key insights from contributors
- A preview of the guide’s structure and content
- Opportunities for discussion and member engagement
