DESCRIPTION:Join us for a training session with the Google News Initiative!
  MVJ will host Mary Nahorniak\, GNI’s U.S. Teaching Fellow\, to discuss 
 the best ways to use Google tools when covering the upcoming election.\n\n
 This session will cover the most relevant tools from Google’s suite that
  will equip journalists to cover the 2024 elections in the U.S.\, from loc
 al races to the national level. Mary will discuss covering campaigns\, can
 didates and issues through the lens of helping you search smarter\, unders
 tand your audience’s questions\, and analyze large document sets.\nRSVP

  is Google News Initiative’s U.S. teaching fellow\, focused on collabora
 ting with journalists and entrepreneurs to drive innovation in news. She h
 as trained 5\,500+ journalists with the Google News Initiative team and al
 so serves as a trainer for the Poynter Institute\, focused on coaching new
 srooms in digital strategy. Mary previously worked at USA TODAY\, NewsTrus
 t\, The Baltimore Sun\, The Richmond Times-Dispatch\, and for a mobile Int
 ernet company in Kuala Lumpur\, Malaysia. She's a graduate of the Universi
 ty of South Carolina honors program and has taught at the University of Ma
 ryland and in Russia. Mary is a recent transplant to the San Francisco Bay
  Area\, and you can find her surfing\, making pottery and exploring coffee
  shops and trails.
